The Patriots have traded running back Laurence Maroney to the Broncos, according to multiple sources.
New England will receive a fourth-round pick in 2011 while pairing Maroney with a sixth-round selection.
Maroney, who was limited by a thigh injury of late, was inactive for the team's season-opening win.

Rams Acquire WR Mark Clayton
The Rams have traded for Ravens wide receiver Mark Clayton, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Clayton was a No. 22 overall pick by Baltimore in 2005.
He caught a career-best 67 passes for 939 yards in 2006, scoring five touchdowns.
Broncos Trade Alphonso Smith To Lions
The Broncos have traded defensive back Alphonso Smith to the Lions for tight end Dan Gronkowski.
Smith was at the bottom of Denver's depth chart in the secondary.
Denver traded up in the second round of the 2009 draft to select Smith, dealing their 2010 first round pick.
Eagles Acquire Barnes From Ravens
The Eagles have acquired defensive end Antwan Barnes in a trade with the Ravens.
A seventh round pick in next year's NFL Draft will also be involved in the trade, according to a trade.
Barnes had a career-high three sacks in 11 regular season games last year with the Ravens.
Giants Get Rosenfels From Vikings
The Giants have acquired quarterback Sage Rosenfels from the Vikings in a multiplayer deal.
New York will also receive running back/kick returner Darius Reynaud, while sending an undisclosed 2011 draft pick and a conditional 2012 draft choice to Minnesota.
Eagles Acquire Reggie Wells From Cardinals
The Eagles have acquired guard Reggie Wells in a trade with the Cardinals.
Wells was Arizona's starting guard.
Philadelphia is expected to ship a sixth-round pick to Arizona to complete the deal.
Wells moved from left guard to right guard this year following the signing of free agent Alan Faneca.
Cowboys Deal Crayton To Chargers
The Cowboys have traded disgruntled wide receiver Patrick Crayton to the Chargers.
The details of the trade are still being worked out, but it is believed that San Diego will receive a seventh-round pick in the deal.
Seahawks Trade Wilson To Ravens
The Seahawks have traded cornerback Josh Wilson to the Ravens for a conditional 2011 draft pick.
Seattle coach Pete Carroll said they felt there was enough depth at the position with Kelly Jennings and rookie Walter Thurmond.
"This was a team that was very aggressive in coming after Josh," general manager John Schneider said. "They were in a situation where they have a strong need. It has more to do with how Walter has stepped up and how (Marcus Trufant) is playing and some of the younger guys."
